The Renovator MK4 tine drill is the premium gravity box drill in the Renovator range.
Featuring 125mm or 150mm row spacings, the MK4 can be configured for a wide range of jobs, from planting grass in the high rainfall rolling hills of the South Island, to planting cereal crops on the dry plains of Australia.
High capacity boxes coupled with the accurate peg tooth seed metering units which are easy to calibrate let you sow accurately and for longer with the renowned Renovator reliability and very low operating costs.
Sturdy 25mm coil tines with the Baker boot are spaced out over four toolbars for optimum trash flow. Commonly coupled with disc openers and tine harrows, the MK4 will make a beautiful job in the most challenging conditions.
The MK4 tackles the toughest jobs in its stride, so you'll find Duncan drills on farming operations around the world. Choose from 3 metre and 3.5 metre models to sow large hectares in a wide range of terrain and conditions.
Ideal for large scale farmers and contractors.

The fully welded, heavy-wall RHS steel chassis delivers a strong, reliable frame to support all key operational components. Four toolbars provide ample room to space out and stagger the coil tines for excellent trash and residue flow. The chassis is blasted and powder coated for a long lasting, durable finish.
The long drawbar enables tight headland turning and features a swivel towing eye for safe, secure coupling on undulating ground. A pivot connection to the main chassis allows the machine to follow ground contours smoothly.
Twin safety chains provide peace of mind and the heavy duty winding jack stand makes it easy to connect and remove the drill from your tractor.
Dual boxes let you sow seed and fertiliser at the same time, or you can double up on seeds. Made large for big jobs - the 3.0m models hold 550L in each bin and the 3.5m models have 650L in each. Optionally choose to upgrade one or both bins to stainless steel for better durability if you're using fertiliser.
Stainless steel agitator shafts are mechanically driven from the metering drive system, slowly rotating to keep seed and fertiliser flowing to prevent bridging in the hoppers. The shafts can be disconnected for fast flowing seeds to manage the sowing rate.
The MK4 ground drive model uses a simple jockey-wheel ground drive system, with an optional upgrade to electric drive for electronic calibration, stored rates, and in-cab rate adjustment. Sowing depth is set by hydraulically adjusting the height of the transport wheels which are synchronised with phased rams.
Ground drive models use variable-speed mechanical gearboxes to deliver precise, easily calibrated metering across different sowing rates.
25 mm coil spring tines with narrow tungsten-faced inverted “T” points deliver excellent ground penetration in most conditions for an ideal seedbed. Choose from 125mm (5") or 147.5 mm (6") row spacing. The precisely positioned tines are mounted across four toolbars in a stagger pattern to optimise trash flow.
Inverted T-shaped replaceable boots create an ideal environment for fast, reliable germination. Their wing-heeled design forms a cavity that traps moisture around the seed and fertiliser for improved establishment. The boots are cast from Ni-Hard, an exceptionally durable material, with a tungsten carbide tile on the leading edge to maximise wear life.
The 25 mm coil spring tines are clamped to the toolbars with no pre-drilled holes, maintaining full tine strength and reducing the chances of breakage. They track straight behind opening discs if fitted, minimising pasture disturbance
Optional disc openers cut through cover crops and trash for improved penetration in tough conditions, with turbo tilth fluted, wavy discs creating a fine seedbed and maintaining rotation in wet, heavy soils.
The peg tooth roller metering system handles everything from very fine to large seeds, using fine and large metering wheels for exceptional accuracy across low to high application rates. Easy to access and fast to adjust. All metering components are durable UV resistant plastic which are vermin proof and simply replaced if damaged
Technology
Gravity seed distribution
This reliable system has been utilised on Duncan Drills for decades. It is easy to calibrate and use, requires no tractor hydraulics to run it and it is incredibly accurate due to the seeds being metered from individual outlets for each run.
Seed and fertiliser is stored in a box above the drilling tines or discs and drops into a metering peg roller system with coarse and fine wheels and flow control flaps to handle different seed sizes and sowing rates.
Metered seed and fertiliser then drops down flexible hoses to the point of contact with the ground.
Tine technology
25mm Coil Tine
The tine has minimal sideways movement so that it tracks straight and it will follow an opening disc.
The tine pulls back before it lifts up out of the ground, so it is not placing seed on top of the ground.
Made from solid spring steel with no drilled holes to weaken it so it’s very durable with minimal breakages.
Staggered tine mounting layout to assist trash flow.
Baker Boot
The Baker Boot is replaceable.
The tungsten carbide leading edge with a positive rake angle on the point penetrates the ground and opens up a slot.
The seed and fertiliser are placed at different depths for optimum germination.
The wings & heel of the boot create a cavity containing all of the key ingredients being seed, fertiliser, moisture, air and loose soil which is ideal for fast germination and rapid root development.
Calibration App
Use the Duncan Seed Drill app on your phone for easy and accurate job configuration and calibration of any new or existing Duncan Renovator or Duncan Enviro drill, and take your drilling operations to the next level of productivity.
The Duncan seed drill app contains step-by-step user guides for making calibration and mechanical adjustments to your drill. Great for any new operator or if you're just a bit rusty yourself!
Calibrate multiple machines with the app, and get every operator set up with it too so they can do calibrations from their own phone.
Calibrating a ground drive drill with seed or fertiliser will display the required mechanical settings.
Connect wirelessly to a Duncan E-Drive drill to set up the sowing rates and run calibrations while you are right beside the drill.
